Store Assistant m/f/d

Optimistic Runners is a Berlin-based running apparel brand that blends functional design with an art-driven approach. We're a young, international team, and we’re currently looking for a Store Assistant to support our daily retail operations.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent communication skills, and a passion for running and sports. This position offers growth opportunities in an expanding team of a new Berlin-based brand. Together, we will not only build the brand but also contribute to the development of Berlin's running culture.

Location: Torstrasse 62, Berlin

Job type: Full Time

Contracted hours: 32-40 hours per week

Shift pattern: Varied shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends – all will be discussed at the interview

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, personalized customer service
Support store team with daily operations
Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space
Replenish stock and monitor inventory levels
Process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
Assist during occasional brand events (e.g. pop-ups, launches, activations)
Help with setup, breakdown, and logistics during in-store or off-site events

Requirements

Previous experience in retail
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Confident English communication skills (spoken and written), German language skills are a plus
Comfortable with physical tasks (e.g. lifting boxes, moving stock)
Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings for events
Passion for sports and running or motivation to start running

Junior Graphic Designer (Working Student) m/f/d

Optimistic Runners is a Berlin-based running apparel brand that blends functional design with an art-driven approach. We're a young, international team, and we are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer (Working Student) to support our creative team across a variety of visual projects.

The role combines brand, digital, and editorial design, contributing to how Optimistic Runners communicates across campaigns, social media, print, and community activations. You will work closely with the team to develop and adapt visual content, helping to translate ideas into clear, cohesive, and engaging design outputs across different formats and contexts.

Location: Torstrasse 62, Berlin

Job type: Part Time

Contracted hours: Maximum 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

Support the design team with day-to-day production tasks
Prepare and adapt layouts across print and digital formats
Retouch, crop, resize, and color-correct images
Manage file exports, packaging, and asset organization
Support in the development of visuals for events and brand activations

Requirements

Currently enrolled as a student in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma
Portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including digital and print materials
Strong eye for layout, typography, spacing, and detail
Experience with image retouching and photo post-production
Organized and comfortable working with multiple files and fast turnarounds
Basic understanding of print production and export settings
Interest in running, movement culture, fashion, or editorial design
Comfortable working in English (German is a plus but not required)
